The Kineo School began over a mutual love of coffee and education. Founders Jodi Gaertner and Lindsey Yocum were looking for an alternative elementary school environment for their children. The former public school teachers dreamed about their ideal school, which would place relationships and inquiry-based education at the center of a vibrant learning community. They ended up talking each other into starting a school, and The Kineo School was born.
Our school opened in 2016 with five students in grade K-1. We grew to fourteen K-2 students in 2017, twenty-four K-5 students in 2018, and thirty-three K-5 learners for the 2018-2019 school year. We are growing each year, and will expand to grades K-8 by 2022.
