In January 2023, The Kineo School joined the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS), a regional association of 116 independent schools in 8 states known for its commitment to guiding, inspiring, and advancing schools. By joining the Association as a Subscriber School, the Board and administration have voluntarily decided to pursue accreditation through NWAIS’ thorough and nationally recognized accreditation program. By striving to gain this accreditation, we are making a statement to our school community about our commitment to being the best school we can be.

The Kineo School will benefit from the Association’s excellent resources, and our Board and staff welcome the opportunity to interact with other independent school colleagues in sharing best practices and keeping informed about the latest in educational trends.

Our next step in pursuing accreditation will be moving towards meeting the requirements of becoming a Candidate School by December 2026. This will require The Kineo School to thoroughly review various components of our school, from our mission statement and culture, enrollment practices, curriculum, governance, and more. These reviews will help the school identify areas of growth and change that are necessary to gain accreditation.
